Campaigns built on the balance of system
Balance-of-system design, made into campaign material: string inverters, battery energy storage, transformers and the transformer blocks they assemble into.
CPS America supplies the balance of system for utility-scale and commercial solar in North America — string inverters, battery energy storage, transformers and the transformer blocks that tie them together. Its buyers are developers, EPCs and asset owners deciding what a plant will be built from, long before anything is on site.
Balance-of-system design is the hard thing to sell, because it is a set of relationships rather than a product. What matters is how the inverter, the storage and the transformer are specified against each other, how the block is serviced, and how one block repeats across a site. A photograph of an enclosure shows none of it.
Three applications, one visual language
-
Power Block storage
A 5 MWh liquid-cooled battery system in a 20ft container, opened up to show the racks, the cooling loop and the fire suppression inside it.
-
Inverter skid
The 2.4MW battery storage inverter skid, taken apart to its integrated inverters, switchgear, transformer and auxiliary supply.
-
Replicable PV block
The block a solar plant repeats: array, string inverters, combiners, medium-voltage transformer and storage, laid out as one system.
Outcome
The library carries CPS America's balance-of-system range across digital marketing campaigns and trade show installations, one consistent presentation in front of international audiences. Not a product catalogue — an argument about how the parts are specified against each other, made where the buying decision is actually taken.
